In Karnataka, India, there is an ongoing effort to develop a revised curriculum for children of 3 to 8 years that ensures age appropriateness- Chil Pili. It aims to be a strong readiness programme to prepare children for smooth integration into primary schools, which run Nali Kali – an activity-based learning programme focused on competency-based learning. In 2019, Government of Karnataka introduced a 2 year ECE programme in Karnataka public schools to implement this curriculum. On invitation from UNICEF and SSK, TIDE teams develop curriculum for the age groups 3 to 6, train teachers, supply classroom TLM, and implement a monitoring solution for the ECE programme.
