BENIFITS OF PLAY ON DEVELOPMENTAL DOMAINS

What do we mean by developmental domain? How many are there?

Developmental milestones are behaviors or physical skills seen in infants and children as they grow and develop. Rolling over, crawling, walking, and talking are all considered milestones. The milestones are different for each age range.

There are 4 main developmental domains:

  1. Physical Domain
  2. Cognitive-language Domain
  3. Social Domain
  4. Emotional Domain.

There is a normal range in which a child may reach each milestone. But these milestones that are listed here are what can be expected of a child, but that does not mean all children will go through the same milestones at the same time. Every child is independent and unique from the other child. Also, the developmental milestones that are listed here are all interdependent, though they develop independently the learning that happens in a child depends on all the milestones.
