Teacher as a facilitator
Recap: Teacher as a Facilitator
A facilitator is someone who guides students, going along with the students, adapting teaching methods according to their needs, so that they learn better.
A Facilitator gives learners some space for creativity and innovation (thinking of new ideas and things to do).
As a Facilitator, your role in the classroom can include the following:
- Help the students set ground rules and keep them
- Build trust
- Listen to students’ questions without dismissing them
- Encourage and guide students to think
- Encourage all students to contribute to the discussion
- At the same time, keep focus so that the learning is not lost
- Help students make observations and arrive at conclusions
- Identify potential in students and help them develop it
